A Running Start student finds Toys Topless advertisement 'crude and highly offensive'

I often read your newspaper on lazy afternoons and quietly appreciated your creative avenue and a few local news articles.

However, I recently opened up the paper to find an ad for a strip club. Since when did it become okay to advertise this disgusting establishment? When did it suddenly become acceptable for you and your paper to openly support paying women to degrade themselves?

I cannot accurately articulate my anger. A great way to pay for college? I am a Running Start student. I am 17. When did it become okay for 17-year-olds to apply at a strip club?

Yes, I know your target audience is not teenagers, but still that fact does not justify this crude and highly offensive ad. Needless to say, I will not be reading your paper anymore, and will make sure all of my friends, peers and coworkers are aware of the kind of paper you run.

I will voice my opinion on this subject. Selling your body is not a way to pay for college, and I have little respect for any establishment or newspaper that thinks so.

Lol...I just have to sit back and laugh at all the drama this ad has created. I'm watching the protest video and the first guy I see is a "regular" at Toy's and he's exclaiming that the ad was a horrible thing and they shouldn't be putting it out there!!(you know who you are!)I almost cried I was laughing so hard! And after the ad was put out, Toy's had more customers from Olympic College wanting to check out the place then they had in years! So, I just want to thank everyone who protested. (Continued…)
